Product Description
Samsung’s new 3D Active Glasses are the gateway to Samsung 3D entertainment. The Samsung 3D Starter Kit allows you and a friend to experience true Samsung 3D entertainment.
The technology works as follows: When you put them on and look at the screen, the technology first blocks the left and then the right lens. It happens faster than the blink of an eye – so your eye won’t notice it. But when images are shown to each eye separately this “staggered” effect achieves far more lifelike 3D images.

I just purchased this item along with a Samsung UN55C7000 and a Samsung BD-C6900. Let me just say, it’s amazing. It came with a free movie, Monsters vs Aliens. The movie looks amazing on the TV.
The glasses didn’t need any pairing or calibration as some people claim that it needs. It’s just as simple as turning on the glasses. The 3D quality is top notch, however I’ve experienced a few ‘glitches’ so far. During different parts of the movie, I’ll notice a 3D shadow of whatever item is on the screen. For example, in the beginning of the movie there is a church in a scene. The image of the church felt like as if the glasses weren’t working correctly. The 3D was working, but it felt like it wasn’t a clear 3D picture. Let me try to explain it a little different. You know when you have a 3D movie on the screen without the glasses? How you can see a blur of an image all together for each eye? When you put on the glasses, that image becomes one right? Well, imagine that image not coming together 100%. Having an “edge” of a blur and that’s the issue I’m experiencing.
I’ve tried the other set of glasses only to have the same outcome. I’ve called Samsung to troubleshoot my issue and considering it’s a new product, they said they have to call me back in 24-48 hours to see what’s wrong. Oddly enough, I went to a local Best Buy and tried the exact same setup, except this time using the Rechargeable Samsung glasses, rather than the battery operated ones I have. I didn’t experience the same issue. I’ve tried shifting settings around on both the TV and the Bluray player and have yet to get a fix for it. I’ll update this post as more information comes.

Excellent quality and even better I got them free when I bought the TV and DVD player combination.

Hey I purchased the entire setup, the 55 inch Samsung 3D tv, the glasses 5 pair and the dvd starter kit. I played the movie perfect out of the box. In 2D mode made some changes went back to 3D and got the crosstalk that is being mentioned in earlier post. Best Buys setup did not have it. Geek squad not familiar enough with it when they came to the house. I played with the settings with the bluray 3D player on went into the controls for the 3D setting (that only can be adjusted when 3D player is on and running) go into tv menu and under the 3D setting very last option that is blanked out unless 3D player is running is the box (3D Optimize) some are set to 0 some are plus 1. I set mine to -1 and picture cleared right up. 3D optimize when at 0 or +1 I got ghosting or cross talk. Set to -1 and picture calibrated fine. I am not sure what changed this or maybe I made the change when I was adjusting settings earlier. It only shows to allow changes when the 3D player is running. Player, TV and glasses work great. Samsung should put out a quick book on the settings for 3D this to me was important. None of the other settings and adjustments worked and not until I turned on 3D player and looked it all over did I find this adjustment and make the change. Great TV, now we need more movies!

Considering that – they work and are reasonable comfortable to wear; includding fitting over my glasses. Have not tested the battery life (not much material to watch yet)- wished Samsung would have provided something other than a silly cartoon for their demo material.

You need them to watch 3D. The glasses sync with an infared signal from lower left corner of TV, so need a straight unobstructive path (no lying down and not off on an angle) We had a problem with bright sunlight messing up the sync, but closed the blinds and all was fine (Samsung was going to send someone out to investigate!! great service)
My wife wears glasses and does not have a problem with wearing the 3D glasses. Turning on/off the glasses takes a little practice (then found out they will turn off automatically when loose sync – so just have to turn them on, which is easy to do.
This model does not use rechargeable batteries; since we didn’t buy the set for 3D don’t know how long the batteries will last.
CAREFULL when cleaning them, they can be easliy damaged – each lens is composed of two membranes, and if pressed and touch they could be damaged. Don’t let kids handle the glasses.
These were included free with our purchase – the only way to go as the glasses are too much money!!

This kit includes 2 pairs of glasses, 2 batteries for the glasses, 2 bags to store the glasses when not in use, 2 cleaning rags to clean the glasses, and 1 3D Blu-ray movie (Monsters vs. Aliens). This starter kit arrived USPS ground 7 days after ordering as part of a larger package deal (free super shipping was my only available option) which also included the BD-C6900 Samsung 3D Blu-ray player and the PN58C7000 Samsung 58 inch 3D Plasma TV. The package contents were fit nicely into the amazon box.
The kit is rather nice when you are getting it for free as an early promotion. It has the basics of what you need to watch 3d, and care for the glasses when they aren’t being used. Operation of the glasses is pretty straight forward. Pop in the battery, push the power button and you are ready to watch 3D. The glasses will sync automatically with the tv. When you are done watching 3d, push the power button to turn the glasses off, and put them in the included bag for safekeeping.
I was concerned these might be heavy, but they are not. In fact they are pretty light weight. They feel sturdy enough for adult use, but as soon as my 2 year old started reaching for them I got nervous. I was also concerned they might not fit over my glasses, but they do, and in fact are pretty comfortable. If I had a choice I would have opted for the rechargeable version that I used at the store, but that is really not a big deal. The manual says the battery should last about 50 hours.
The title really says it all. It is simply a basic kit to get you started on 3d, and it does that quite well.

I ONLY GOT THIS FOR FREE BY BUYING A QUALIFYING 3D TV AND THE BD-C6900 BUT IF YOU GO OUT AND BUY THE 2 3D GLASSES THEY COST 150 DOLLARS EACH TOTALING 300 DOLLARS AND THIS WOULD USUALLY COST 350 DOLLARS AT MRSP. SO YOU’RE ESSENTIALLY PAYING 50 DOLLARS FOR THE MOVIE, MONSTERS VS ALIENS. I WAS ABLE TO SELL THE MOVIE FOR 90 DOLLARS ON EBAY, SO THAT WAS A BIG PLUS. BUT THE PRICE IS BEGINNING TO DROP SINCE CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS WENT ON SALE IN STORES. BUT IF YOU CAN FIND THIS FOR UNDER 300 DOLLARS I WOULD CONSIDER BUYING ANOTHER KIT FOR THE EXTRA PAIRS OF GLASSES.

These glasses if bought seperately are over priced, but Samsung has a promotion going if buy a 3D tv the glasses are free. Glasses are not included if you buy a 3D tv to me this is a mistake. If the kit was not trown in I would not have bought a 3D tv. The glasses work as advertised you will see 3D from a 3D source and a kind of 3D from a 2D source they work okay. I woul not do any long term viewing with them on because your eyes will start to tire. This is product that I can better judge when theres more 3d movies and tv programs are available. Mitch

Truly enjoy watching the 3D experiance, the glasses work very well and the Movie was way better than i expected it to be. I am a member of Netflix (great service), and converted my account to Blu-ray movies instead of recieving DVD. I placed alot of 3D Blu-ray movies in my Que. the selection is getting larger. I have the Samsung UN55C8000 tv with the Samsung BD-C6900 blu-ray player and the free Samsung 3D starter kit. LOVE it all
